Hello, and thank-you for taking the time to visit this page.
Meet the Masters is a mentoring project geared towards helping new herbalists forge their own path and establish a career in herbal medicine. In this initiative, I am asking prominent herbalists to answer the question: “How did you establish a career in herbal medicine?” The goal is for successful herbalists to help create a “career road map” for new herbalists by providing life stories and concrete examples of career options and lessons learned.
Often herb students will be told about the career options available to them as herbalists, but the most important questions generally remain unanswered – How do you find the seed money to invest in your dream? How can you actually make a living as an herbalist? What are the tangible career options for herbalists, and how do you pursue them? This needs to be laid out in simple, practical terms, and what better way than to have succesful herbalists share their life experiences.
Your submissions are highly revered and greatly appreciated. The purpose of this site is to build community, to educate, and to serve as a free resource for herbal medicine.
If you feel that you have already answered this question several times over in previous interviews or articles, then please feel free to send me these articles, and I will happily extract the relevant information, weave it together into a new article, and then send it to you for edits and approval before publication.
Content and formatting are at your discretion as long as the submission speaks to the issue of forging your own path and/or establishing a career in herbal medicine. Here are some very loose submission guidelines:
